![]() ![]() I do understand though that most here have varying financial situations and are sailing the high seas to accumulate their enormous libraries. The cost of storage and hardware is rather minimal in comparison to the cost of the content on bluray and UHD bluray, not to mention the cost of a serious home theater. Mind you, I'm also coming from the perspective of physically owning all my own content on disc. I have several series that are well over a terabyte all by themselves. With that said, while the total price is higher, 14 TB drives in the $200-230 range are really a far better deal on a per TB basis. Like I said, I get why many Plex users target a much smaller file. I know the solution is to delete stuff, but the whole point of using Plex and Jellyfin as opposed to the streamers is never having to worry about stuff moving services/not being on any at all, lol. At this point, thinking of just using a NAS and running RAID6, but I'm not tech-savvy at all, so not sure it'd fit my needs. Looking at like $1k+ just in hard drives alone. I can't imagine if I had all seasons of all the shows I like - which I want to do. ![]() And again, these are all essentially just the first season. I need to get another to back it all up as well (would be devastated if I lost it all). I have 137 shows right now (only a handful of which are more than 1 season, and only a handful of which are more than 720p ), 6.2k songs (takes up about 20GB), 66 books, and 185 movies (again, only a handful of which are higher than 720p, none 4k), and it takes up about 3TB. Especially if you're like me, and don't like to delete the stuff you like. If you have a lot of shows (I watch way more shows than movies), it takes up a lot of space. My 5TB WD Black P10 has about 4.5TB of usable space, and it's on sale for $125 (usually $150). As a certified broke-ass bitch, storage isn't cheap to me, lol.
